Instructors
Jillian Flores
Jillian became one of Layne’s very first clients back in 2013 at Flow Studios. This marked the beginning of her passion for fitness and wellness.
She earned her Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in Fitness and Health Promotion from California State University, Fullerton. Her professional credentials include being a certified Pilates instructor under BASI, a Lagree Fitness instructor certified by House of Burn, and a certified NASM Personal Trainer.
Jillian's favorites workouts include Lagree, Pilates, Spin, and TRX. Her background and commitment to promoting wellness allow her to guide and inspire others on their own fitness journeys.
Nadia Gonzalez
Nadia became Layne’s private client in 2021. She worked closely with Layne while pursuing her goal of becoming a Reformer Pilates instructor. She is a Balanced Body-certified and a NASM-certified personal instructor. She is certified in Reformer, Tower, Cadillac, and Wunda Chair.
Upon completing her Bachelor’s degree at California State University, Fresno, she worked with Flow Studios on branding and managed the studio’s social media. Her deep love for Reformer Pilates, the studio, and especially its people, naturally evolved into her role as an instructor.
Nadia’s favorite forms of exercise include Reformer Pilates, Hot Mat Pilates, HIIT, and Strength Training.
Rosalie Avila
Rosalie met Layne while dancing together in Altered Modalities Contemporary Dance Company. She began being a client of Layne’s in 2016 and immediately fell in love with reformer Pilates. Rosalie danced ballet, jazz, and contemporary for 30 years and taught dance for 10 years prior to pursuing her physical therapy degree.
She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2015 from California State University, Fresno and began working for Kaweah Health where she became Pilates Mat certified and uses reformers to help her patients regain their strength and endurance. In 2018 Rosalie began specializing in Women’s Health physical therapy and childhood bowel and bladder dysfunctions. She has a strong desire to help patients and clients achieve their goals as mothers, working women, and athletes, as she relates to them all.
Rosalie’s favorite Pilates exercise is downward dog. When she is not at Flow Studio or the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two girls or jumping into a ballet or contemporary dance class when time allows.
Faith Bettencourt
Faith’s passion for fitness and Pilates started soon after taking her first Pilates reformer class while attending college at California State University, Fresno. She instantly knew it would become a big part of her life.
Being that she grew up with constant lower back pain - due to a more prominent inward curve of the spine, she became interested in Pilates and found it to be the only solution that gave her relief. The benefits she experienced grew her passion of strength & fitness incorporating Pilates and encouraged her to take it further as an instructor. She is now a certified Pilates instructor through Balanced Body Education.
Faith’s favorite form of Pilates is reformer and loves to incorporate jump boards during classes. She hopes to influence others to try Pilates for their own benefit & to feel stronger and healthier!
Sarah Headrick
Born and raised in Hanford, Sarah grew up dancing and has been a life long mover. She found Pilates during her third pregnancy, and was hooked from the start.
Sarah appreciated how Pilates complimented all other forms of activity she enjoyed (gym, hiking, running, and chasing toddlers), and gave her the mind/body awareness, strength, and flexibility she desired. After being a dedicated student for about 2 years, Sarah decided to get certified through BASI Pilates. It was around this time that Sarah and Layne crossed paths! Layne was in the process of opening Flow Studio, and did a little babysitting for Sarah’s young kids. Sarah then started enrolling in classes at Flow, being one of Layne’s first students.
Over the years, Sarah has taught private lessons and substituted for Layne during her honeymoon and maternity leave. Sarah is excited to be back in the studio offering private lessons and substituting group classes!
Sophia Veenendaal
Sophia has been practicing Pilates for about two years, but really found a passion for it within the last year after moving away to college as she was looking for a way to stay active, healthy and feel like the best version of herself. Pilates quickly became so much more than just a workout - it helped Sophia build strength, confidence and a stronger connection with her body which inspired her to become an instructor and share that experience with others.
Sophia is a certified Reformer Pilates Instructor through Balanced Body. Her goal is to create classes that are both challenging and welcoming, so everyone feels comfortable no matter their experience level!
When she’s not teaching, she is working toward her business degree through Grand Canyon University’s online program. As a student herself, she understands how important it is to make time for your health and wellness, and she hopes to inspire others to do the same through Pilates!
